Career history

Dr. Hideo Shiohira has been a professor at Showa Pharmaceutical University, Tokyo, since 2025. He received his BS from Daiichi Pharmaceutical University in 2004, MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Showa Pharmaceutical University Graduate School in 2006, and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Fukuoka University Graduate School in 2009. He was a clinical pharmacist since 2009, chief pharmacist since April 2019, and assistant director from October 2025 to March 2025 at the Department of Pharmacy, University of the Ryukyus Hospital. His specialties are clinical pharmacy, clinical pharmacology, therapeutic drug monitoring, infection control and prevention, and optimal antibiotic use.
